Voices for Children
Voices for Children (VFC) recruits, trains, and supports Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who advocate for the best interests of children in the foster care system. A CASA provides a stable, trusted relationship for a child, ensuring their voice is heard in court, school, and the community.
To provide a CASA volunteer for every single child in the Riverside County foster care system who needs one.
Our Mission
Our Impact
Our recent $43,000 grant was leveraged into $64,500, allowing us to recruit, train, and support approximately 32 new CASA volunteers.
Our 414 active CASAs are currently serving 730 children, including 204 from the Coachella Valley.
Statistics show that children with a CASA are half as likely to re-enter the foster care system, perform better in school, and are more likely to find a safe, permanent home.
Success Story
Eleven-year-old Tai entered foster care after being abandoned. He was withdrawn, struggling in school, and hesitant to trust others. Then he met his CASA, Brian. Sharing a cultural background, Brian slowly introduced Tai to new foods and experiences. They bonded over trips to the zoo and amusement parks. Today, Tai is thriving—his confidence has blossomed, he excels in school, and he is open to new friendships. Brian’s stable presence provided the spark Tai needed to heal and grow.
